The CobiNet Point of Presence (PoP) is the central element of the public broadband infrastructure
The point of presence combines data, voice and video connections between the carrier’s backbone and the regional FttH fibre network, which connects each building to the network. After the point of presence, further distribution levels are usually implemented within the FttH network, which are realised in form of fibre optic network distributors or sleeves. These distribution levels have the function to collect the optical fibres coming from the customer connection and to forward them bundled to the PoP in order to ensure an efficient and highly capacitive connection.
